Clakus Groups
Privacy notice
Last updated September 9, 2026
What we collect
We store your verified email, display name, age cohort rather than your exact birth date, group memberships, content you choose to share, notification choices, legal-acceptance records, support requests, and limited service diagnostics. We do not store account passwords or birth dates.
Essential cookie and security records
Clakus uses one first-party, HTTP-only cookie to keep you signed in. It is required for the service and is not used for advertising. We also retain limited IP address, browser, request, audit, and session records to prevent abuse, investigate incidents, and let you revoke active sign-ins.
Private groups and invitations
Group content is available only to current members of the group where it was shared. Invitations do not add you automatically: you choose whether to accept, decline, or block future invitations. Contact cards are private until you explicitly share one with a specific group.
Information about other people
Members may add photos and genealogy records concerning other people. We require the submitter to confirm they are authorized to share that information. Living-person genealogy details receive additional role-based protection. Anyone concerned may use our privacy-request form to ask for review, correction, or removal.
AI-assisted features
Photo suggestions use AWS Rekognition general object labels only after an authorized member requests them; Clakus does not use facial recognition, identity matching, emotion inference, or biometric templates. Recipe extraction sends the submitted recipe text or public page content to Amazon Bedrock after the member requests extraction.
Service providers
Amazon Web Services provides hosting, storage, database, content scanning, AI processing, monitoring, and email delivery. These providers process information to operate the service. We do not sell personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or perform behavioral profiling.
Email choices
Verification, security, export, and initial invitation messages are operational. Activity digests and chat-mention emails are optional and remain off until you enable them in Account Settings, where they can be disabled again.
Your choices
You can correct profile and contact information, change a verified email, accept or decline invitations, unshare contact cards, manage sessions and optional email, export your data and acceptance history, report privacy concerns, or request account deletion.
Security and retention
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is role-limited and audited. We keep information only as long as needed for the disclosed service, security, legal, and backup purposes. Deleted personal information is removed or anonymized subject to backup retention and the continuity of content shared with a group.
